Montana Earthquake

Got woke up at 12:30am to the world shaking. 6 minutes later an aftershock then 1/2hr later another. 5.8 just out of lincoln, MT. That just doesn't happen in MT, earthquakes that we can feel let alone wake up most of the state. I was dreaming and not sure if I was really experiencing things shaking even though I knew I felt it. Got my phone to check for anything. Then on facebook. It was busy quick. Much faster than any government site. How active facebook got at 12:30am was teh most amazing part of all of it to me. An excellent way to monitor stuff, social media.

I experienced 4 earthquakes while I was in Trinidad. The first was while I was in the office, and by far the strongest, was 7.0 or something. the second that evening while laying on the couch, and the other 2 on a jackup rig offshore trindad, although the last 2 were the smallest, a jackup rig shaking is no fun. it hard to describe the feeling during the first and strongest one, almost made me sick to the stomach, and that doesn't happen to me no matter what! not a fun feeling to say the least

If better is possible, is good enough?
You get to choose.

Barn
Didn't feel it as I sleep like a rock but the power flickered a couple times so now I have a bunch of pivots to go restart.

Earthquakes are unnerving, I lived along the New Madrid Fault Line for over 50 years and felt several during that time. Hopefully there will never be another major quake like the series of activity in 1811-1812 (Reelfoot Lake was formed, estimated the MS River ran backwards for 3 days).

Always something exciting to look forward to. Yellowstone would have to have even bigger effect on Western Canada than Mount st Helens.

understatement of the week! If Yellowstone goes I might be in the "kill zone" whereas the rest of the world will starve to death within 2-3 years if I remember correctly. I didn't even look at the link posted by SWman, so I maybe instant death is the most extreme scenario.

I did jokingly ask my wife to look outside for bright fireball. She started to look.
