914 pickup header rubber on drive roller

Squirrels have destroyed the rubber on one side all the way down the drive roller tube for the belts wondering if anyone has replaced these rubbers or how to fix them there is no replacement rubber from jd and a new roller is well over 2 grand . Thinking some silicone or something they are only scratched up on one side .

There are places that will do rubber vulcanizing / coating onto rollers. Had some drive rollers done on a straight head a few years ago. Worked great. Not sure where you are from but there is a place in Winnipeg MB. Can't remember the name but can find out if you need.

Yes many years ago sent a baler roller to Winnipeg to get the rubber put on it.
Can't remember the name of the place though.
