No new John Deere combine this year.

The Cincinatti John Deere new equipment show made NO mention of anything new as far as combines for 2011!! Guess we wait another year with a few more prototypes in the fields than last year.

I have no idea in regards to that but it wouldn't worry me if they spent another year testing. There has been too much JD equipment released too early in the last 5 years or so IMO.

Talked to dealer's salesman this morning. New design will be 2012 models. 2011's are limited production as the factory will be shut down for retooling.

They are also limiting production to use up all the tier 3 engines. Our dealership only gets 15 combines to sell next year.

Yeah I was looking forward to seeing the new combine when I was down there for intro... Really they didnt have too much really new in the way of ag equipment other than the frontier cornheads and disks. They didnt even make any mention of combines probably so people didnt complain about the allocations of combines. We have half a dozen people interested but can only sell 3 this year...

Re: No new John Deere combine this year.

? I am confused. Deere is willing to limit the number of machines they want to sell? Pretty brave. Tough to be a salesman. If a customer is in a position to buy new units and is told no, will they not look elsewhere?
CNH transition will not limit production, Jan 2011 is the change. Before that date tier3, after tier4. Simple.

Re: No new John Deere combine this year.

I am getting very tired of this we wount tell attitude. We are in the market for new combines and i would like to know if and when and what is in the pipeline at john deere for combines.
Now, should we wait or go to case or Claas ? I know many farmers that switched last year from green to red because of the larger capacity of the 9120 Case and i dont know if john deere wants to wait and loose more customers to the competition or finally tell us what they will bring out or not. Dont have to tell us every single detail but maybe a hint to help us with our desicion.
