I like the unit, openers, sectional control is the best in the market. They say the new block for oil flow and shank engagement should be about twice as fast as it was, before it would take to long to get into the ground- if would drag and plug with straw.

We have intelligent ag blockage monitor, if it works and with our other changes we are looking forward to start seeding.

The way that they run the primary hoses under and over the frame can cause uneven airflow = uneven seed flow or near plugging even at fan speeds over 5000rpm.

The new seed and fert openers have more clearance from the bottom of the carbide to the bottom of the seed and fert tubes, than the ones last year. They are still not hard surfaced, and Dutch are, Dutch looks to have better boots.

The folding out of transport issues are fixed. They got rid of a "pressure increaser", and have bigger cylinders. It's just to simple.

Make sure you screen all fert through a 3/4 x 3/4 screen or you will plug at the manifolds.

Wish they had scales on the tanks, more tank compartments etc, primary hoses on top of the drill frame, walk way to inspects manifolds or unplug them because the tank baskets have holes that are to big to prevent blockages- and for safety- don't want to straddle the frame.

    Hi Wheatking

I found your review on the slim series seed hawk very informative. I am currently looking into these drills and have a couple questions. Did you have any issues with trash early in the morning? We Farm just west of Melfort and want to know what these drills are like in heavy clay soils. We would like to use NH3 as well and want to know if you had any seed burn with applications of 80# and over. Thanks for the reply!
