1480 with a mac don 960

has anyone tried it? would be mostly straight cutting grass seed. what all needs to be done to make it ready to attach and run. would it need rear weights? Combine does have 3rd lift arm.

Me and dad ran a 960 on our 1666. We had the third cylinder on the feeder house already so can't say how it would lift with only two. You definitely want to be careful, you can get the back tires off the ground, you don't want to make any sudden movements. We never had any rear weights. I should add that it was only a 25' header. Fed great. Although it had that goofy adapter that had kind of a rotating drum/auger it seemed like in fluffier crops at times you had to go slow to get it to feed right, the crop would tend to bridge over that rotating drum and not feed into the feeder house. Then you'd have to go a pull it all out. But it was great in durum. We had trouble at times in flax and canola was a real pain
