My neighbor said.... about my sieve.

My neighbor told me that I should take the 2 front rows of fingers out of my lower sieve on my 1688. He said he went from 950 rpm's to 650 rpm's in wheat. He said that when the sieve came forward, it closed off the air. Has any one heard of this or experienced this? It just doesn't sound right to me. Thanks.

Some info that may interest you. It is a common practice to remove some front louvers in some machines.
