Re: Case 2062 Macdon Header

I'm not sure that I would call myself an "expert" on 2062s, but I have helped setup several of them. My first piece of advice would be, if at all possible, to have someone who is familiar with these heads be at your disposal that first day you run this machine as they are a different experience than any other header you have operated. Usually MacDon will be more than happy to have someone come out to help you get it setup to your combine. On the first day figure on making several stops to make some fine tuning and adjustments on the head-you can follow the book 100% and still find out there are a lot of little adjustments you can do to help make your particular head work better.

Also, make sure you follow all the steps in the "Quick-reference card" that should have come with your owner's manual. Its a laminated 3-page setup guide to get you going in the field quickly-has the crucual adjustments listed in the order they need to be done.

Once you get your adapter float, wing float and smile/frown adjustments, and float optimizer all dialed-in, you will love that header. They do take more setup than the old 1020 heads, but when working properly, you will probably never want your 1020s back. We sold 2 to an operation last year that probably has owned a dozen 1020 heads over the years and their remark was that they will never own a 1020 head again. If there's anything else you need to know, let me know.
