Re: Truckloads of new CIH's going north

I'm starting to see new 8010's showing up on dealer lots not sold. I think if you are looking for one you might find a good deal on it.

Probably ours! Sask. will be starting harvest in a week or two in the south, and about 4 weeks or so farther north. There's lots of new product coming in right now. The challenge is to get it PDI'd and ready for the customer in time.

Just curious - does anyone know of any custom harvesting crews that run 8010s?

http://www.westlakeharvesting.com/equipment.html

Westlake Harvesting has a couple of them along with some 2388s.

In general, I think most people will stay with the 2388s since that is the most that many trailers will handle, plus they all have parts trucks full of parts for 2388s. Replacing that inventory is expensive.

Re: Truckloads of new CIH's going north

McLean Harvesting out of Gwinner, ND(I think?) has 2 8010's for this years harvest. The current fleet replaced 4 2188's.

I just saw their new ad for this years season. Thats how I found out.

Also another reason most people will stay with the 2388s are that up to this point, the 8010's are not that much impressive over the 2388afx from what I have been hearing. Another thing, its hard for some people to try new things after enjoying great success of the 30 some year axial flow design from 1400's up to 2388's which are basically the same thing with alot of refining. So in that aspect, people are comfortable with something that has been similiar for the last 30 yrs.
