We've run Lexions since 2000 and before that NH. If Lexions weren't available anymore I would switch back to NH. I think both are great combines and will get your crop off. We have a good Lexion dealer which makes my decision very easy. I think you have a tough choice on you're hand except...
  2. Did your parents encourage you to farm?

    General Farming Board
Nope, never. They always encouraged me to do the best I can in whatever I was doing. I'm doing the same with my kids and 2 are in Ag. I'm pumped, actually I've always been pumped about anything Ag related. For my Dad and for me and now my kids Agriculture and farming is awesome. I do have 1...
  3. So, you think us Claas owners think our machines are flawless? Think again!

    Claas / Lexion
Loctite might help but i think I will try to make the fit of the handle onto the the lever tighter so that the 1 screw holding it will actually have a chance of holding it in place. Right now the set up is more like pin the tail on a donkey type set up....totally useless
  4. So, you think us Claas owners think our machines are flawless? Think again!

I would agree with most complaints here so far, but I can't believe nobody has mentioned the C-motion hydro handle. It is a very nice handle for sure but it also is the most poorly attached handle ever conceived the engineer who came up with that idea needs to be kicked in the rear end
  5. 585R feederhouse drive

    Claas / Lexion
I do believe you're right. The variable speed drive on my 2014 780 is the same as on my previous 595 but the mercedes engine runs 200 rpm slower and therefore doesn't exert as much centrifugal force on the variable speed sheaves and therefor they can't grip the belt properly. The 3 band V belt...
  6. 585R feederhouse drive

    Claas / Lexion
The variable speed option on the 700 series is a joke and for the life of me I don't know why it is even available as an option...it will NOT drive a chopping head, I can make it slip on my flex head if I engage the airreel past half way open. The 500 series variable speed drive is more powerful...
  7. Disappointed in lexion

    Claas / Lexion
What are your settings at? Pretty hard to help you if we don't know where to start. We had trouble one year until we closed the top sieve down to 10 and opened the bottom one to 17. make sure you remove the intensive threshing segments have the smooth APS concaves in and did I mention close the...

How about reporting yield in real weight and not volume....our beans yielded anywhere from 2.5 Tonnes\ha to 3.6 Tonnes/ha. I have yet to see a weigh wagon that weighs in bu??!!!??? Just trying to throw a little fuel on the fire lol. There is at least 1 member on this forum who lives in AB who...
  9. Looking for advice. 2012 750TT in Peas choking.

    Claas / Lexion
That is **** good service....next time you're in town you need to buy her a coffee maybe a steak dinner. We used to have more trouble in the impeller area when we ran draper headers, so yes slowing the drapers down so the center area doesn't get overloaded definitely makes sense. I would put...
  10. 595 air filter plugging

    Claas / Lexion
Bingo, joesixpack is almost right, the black fluted piece is not missing...it is on the wrong end of the filter...the way to install it correctly is to put it over the open end of the filter so that it is inside the filter housing and not on the closed end of the filter. In the picture you can...

What seems to be the problem?
  12. Lexion 780

    Claas / Lexion
With APS plugging we had most problems with the 500 series, a few problems with the 400 series and zero problems with the 700 series....it does scare me when mbfarmer said that one of his machines had problems because I was really happy again this year with no plugging issue but I'm also a...

Do NOT put any fertilizer with your beans at seeding time all it does is lower your plant stand and yield. We put exactly 0 lbs of any fertilizer. If your fields need a bit of P, then apply a bit more the year before.
  14. Cemos help

    Claas / Lexion
I only run ours on rapeseed never even tried canola. The weird thing is I only had trouble the one day and just like Don said I like the way CEMOS cleans up the sample. The regrowth in my canola fields was very little this year so I'm thinking it did fine. I only checked once behind the...
  15. Claas 670 newcomer and happy!

    Claas / Lexion
Mayo, I see you were running in return to cut mode, why not on the float mode...then you just press the float button once and every time you turn around and you don't touch the up down button for the whole pass. The feeder house up down response on these new combines is very fast.
  16. 740 Yield Calibration

    Claas / Lexion
Yes forget the volume...enter the actual weight offloaded and it will get you a very accurate reading. I find in most 60+lbs/bu wheat the cal factor is in the .85 - .93 range. Sometimes when I'm too lazy or don't want to take the time I just dial in .9 and tell the monitor the test weight, I'm...
  17. Inaccurate rotor loss readings, why?

    Claas / Lexion
I had lost a bit of faith in CEMOS this year when we moved into our first canola field...I felt the sieve losses were too high because of excessive fan speed....every time I lowered the fan speed 100 rpm on my machine the losses on the sieve would disappear, so I ran a couple of days letting...
  18. Can the feeder house slip clutch on a Lexion 590r be adjusted?

    Claas / Lexion
We don't run the ITS anymore...didn't feel we gained anything We just run the medium APS concaves with keystock and if the wheat is hard to thrash we close the APS. If you run your APS open check it and see if there is a lot of straw stuck in the concave which will really screw up the flow...

Maybe it has to do with your name. My brother in law "Don" is also a fountain of useless information. Everybody wants him on their team for trivia night. :sFun_crazydance:
  20. 760 wheat settings

    Claas / Lexion
We have cut dry dessicated spring wheat with cyl 840, concave 7- 10, rotors 950-980, rotor doors open and closed depending on time of day. 4 - 5mph Now cutting non dessicated spring wheat green wet straw cyl 870 - 900, concave 7, rotors 980 rotor doors always open....wait for it 2.8 - 3.8 mph...
