Check the reel drive relief pressure. If it is not correct you may need to add or remove shims. Best to get a dealer have a look at it. Pretty quick and easy job - usually

1010 reel surge
I run a 30 ft 1010 on a 2388 and a 25 ft 1010 on a 1680. The reels on the 30 ft have started to surge. A few years back the 1680 was surging so I changed out the hydraulic relay block and adjusted a pot on it to fine tune it and solved the problem. The 23 series does not have a block. Playing with the manual reel speed dial helps but it still surges. Is there a solution?
