We have a 1992 1680 with a 1015 pickup header. All we use the pickup for is canola. We are looking at a 2388 and most of the units we are looking at come without a pickup header.

Here is the question, we have had two dealers tell us that we need a 2015 pickup header, and have had two tell us that the 1015 will fit and work. The dealers that said it will work said that some of the 1991 1680s moved the connection to the left hand side and all of the 1992s moved the connections to the left hand side so that on our combine the 1015 will work. Is this true or not, and what advantages are there to spending the extra cash for a 2015 header strictly for canola pickup.

Thanks

Either will fit. The 2015 is a better header and comes with either a swathmaster or a rake-up which are the better pick-ups any way. The 2015 is deigned to have a pickup mounted and the angle the crop comes at the auger is lower so it feeds under it better.

Thanks, we have a rakeup pickup on our 1015 and a few years back when we pickup some wheat for a neighbour it seemed to work better than some others. I think we will just keep the 1015 then, because as I said all we pickup up now is canola and it doesn't sound like the differences between the 2015 and 1015 would be worth the extra cash.
