I have a 1020 that has the 1.5inch knife in it with the heavy cast guards. The guards are getting worn out. I dont know if i should just replace the bottoms for now? Or would I be better off to switch it over to the 3 inch knife and regular guards.
We cut some peas with it but a lot of wheat and Oats. Which is a better knife system? The 1.5 inch sections seam to break easy, but the guards do seam to stand up very well.

I had a 1.5 inch cut on a 1020 head and switched to a 3 inch cut cuts wheat and bean lot better. When I cut wheat with the 1.5 inch cut I took the woble box out.
