Can anyone tell me if CIH 1063 corn heads were made with knife rolls as standard? See a lot of them for sale and when the add specifies the type of roller, all but a few I've found have knives. Wondering if roller type is not specified, can I assume they are knife?

Just bought one myself a few weeks ago and everyone I looked at had knives. Only difference I came across depended on if it had needle bearings or the updated water pump bearings at the front of the rolls. To upgrade the complete roller also has to be change so dollars start adding up fast. Something like $10-15 for needle bearing and if you grease them supposedly they last. Guess I'm going to find out.

I've read that they should be greased every 5 hours, seems excessive to me. But I guess if you carry a grease gun with you in the toolbox, it shouldn't be too big of deal.

We had a 1063 we purchased new. It had knife rolls. I haven’t run every corn head there is but it was probably my favorite one.
