The one I had leaked but when I pulled the engine there was nothing wrong with the seal, one of the bolts holding the seal plate to the engine fell out leaving a 1/4" hole open to the crankcase. It takes about a day to R&R the engine. TORQUE
I just replaced the same seal on my 98 2388, it took 3 of us about 5 and a half hours to pull the engine out, replace the seal and have it running again. We used a small crane to lift the engine up and spin it so we could work on it from the rear platform of the combine.
