We farm rice in MX. Currently running a 1680 and 1688, RWA, w 23' rigid heads.

Local dealer has some used 1450's coming in. Specs show 180 hp 6.8 litre turbo 6 cyl, Posi torque ? rotor?, 5500 litre hopper... These machines come w/ 22' flex head and 6 row corn head. We're satisfied w/ our current machines, but need one or two more combines. Will these 1450's keep up? Are these primarily corn machines, and if so, can you modify rotor/concaves to thrash rice. Not sure where they are manufactured, Brazil? Germany? Any help would be appreciated.

Well, uh, no.

You have apples (rotaries) and oranges (walker - 1450), and a smaller orange than the apples you have now.

The best information on these machines you will get on this forum (unless someone from Brazil or Mexico gets on here and talks) is to look at the Deere website for specs and description:

Use the Mexico website for all the trilladoras specs for your Mexican Deeres:

Based on what I can translate, the 1450 is a walker machine, with less capacity than a US 94x0/95x0. The machine is 100mm narrower than a 94x0/95x0. It looks like they are a Mexican/Brazilian machine. A sister model, the 1470 is used in Europe and has more beaters, etc for the heavier straw.

Good luck.

My recollection was they were used in Europe, also. The 1470 and 1570 are basically 1450 and 1550 with the enhanced beaters for handling heavier straw. I did not check the eastern Europe or CTS websites, they may still use or sell them in some countries. It looks like they just discontinued the 1450 and went to the 70s for alot of Europe.
