Our neighbor just bought a f2 with spiketooth. I can say i've never been around a f2 in the field. He told me it will stay beside our 1460 with 17.5 header, his has a 13ft. Is the f2 that big or is it wishful thinging?
In beans-the F2 might keep the same speed in perfect, dry conditions, but the F2 will have to unload sooner and at the end of the day, will cut fewer acres. The 1460 will be faster in corn hands down.
The spike tooth will help in beans when compared to the regular concaves that were available on the F's. The bin is either 110 bu or 120 bu.
My Dad had a E3, K2, F2 (that's were I came in) , F3, then I've had a L2, L3, then a CIH 1640 and now a 2366. I believe the L3 could easily hold it's own up against my current 2366 in beans. But in corn, the 1640 (& 2366) blows the socks off of the L3. Some has to do with the corn head design. The A630 Black A/C corn head was not a speed demon like a IH 963 or CIH 1063.
