Elephant ears are wore out so am thinking of installing either the Axceller or the AFX kit from Loewen. Do these work alright with the standard rotor? Anybody got any thoughts on either conversion? Thank you.

Dont waste your time if you are sti
ll runing as tandard rotor stop. Go to your case dealer and buy yourself a case afx rotor. Think about it by the time you buy a new front, new rasp bars and a rear coupler how much money did you save? and you are still stuck with a standard rotor. Go ahead and change your cone too.

Yes, it will work fine. The front is seperate from the rotor and if the standard rotor is working well for you, keep it. Pretty much any auger style front will work well. The Marlins reduced size impellers also work great. Here's a link to another setup for you to consider. http://www.kilemfg.com/2.html I use the Kile setup and am completely happy with it. Here's a link to the short bit I posted about them last year when I installed them. http://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=23109&mid=156392#M156392 I sent the pics of the sharpened knife to Ron and he now offers a near exact copy as an option if you have tough stemmed crops to harvest. Ron just sent me a set of weld on "rotor vane" extensions. These will be welded on to the existing setup which we are trying to call a "rotor vane". It is the small welded on short vane that makes the final transition from the ears to the concaves. Those little "rotor vanes" are an often over looked item when feeding problems are noticed. I'll get them welded on as soon as I can and see how they do.
