New to us 1910 430 TBH cart. Got into the field today and we are having problems with the meter clutches. First time we turned them on and did a test run to check rate and depth and they worked fine. Next time they came on and wouldn't shut off. Played with the monitor and power plugs and they came off but then didn't want to come on. Played with the plugs again and they came on again but won't turn off. I can turn them on and off individually but when you use the master on off no luck. Any ideas?

Does it have a toolbar switch to turn it on when the drill is lowered? If it does, when the drill is in the ground, select MAIN DRIVE ON, on your monitor in the RUN page. It should then chime and say MAIN DRIVE OFF when you lift the drill.

If you select MAIN DRIVE ON while the drill is up, it will turn off when you lower it.

The individual clutches for the meters don't turn on and off as you plant with the drill. They just engage as you select meter on or meter off as you go though your setup pages for your job crop rate etc. If you are using all meters select each one to be ON in your RUN page. You also can't calibrate a meter unless it is turned on.

The toggling between off and on can be a bit ambiguous because when it's on it says turn meter off. Therefore if you press the key again it does turn it off and the message on the line will now say turn meter on.

The clutch on the chain drive, presuming this is a mechanical drive cart, is the clutch that engages for field purposes. When that is engaged the hand crank will turn from the ground drive. If the crank isn't turning its an electrical or command issue to the main clutch. There are also two tiny shear bolts on the drive hub at that main clutch.

If the crank does turn when you drive the one additional cause could be that the shear keys let go on some or all of the meter drives. They just use little cotter keys in hubs near the disengager clutches for each meter. Sometimes the two long bolts compressing the meter rollers together need to be a little looser. You should be able to turn the meter cogwheels by hand.

If it's a newer version with hydraulic drive someone else on here can likely help you better.

Fixed it (I think). Was a bad wire in the 7 pin plug. Plus I think the main clutch was hanging up. But now the big problem- while the tractor was running while working on the plug the hydraulic whine went away. Lost the pump. 15 acres into seeding this year.
