I know a lot of you have plenty of years experience harvesting wheat. I have 400acres that I need to harvest this year. I need some help to get the combine setup right. I have a 2388 with specialty rotor, large wire concaves. I have a 30' draper head and expect yields will be 70 to 100bu/acre. Can you give me ideas of how I should set the combine?

With all large wire concaves I'm afraid you will have trouble getting all the wheat out of the heads. You should use at least one and preferably two small wire concaves in front. If you don't want to spend the money for concaves you could probably get by with cover plates on the front concaves. In wheat I always have all three small wire concaves in and all three slotted grates. I run the rotor at 800 to 900 RPM. The fan at about 1050 RPM and set the sieve at about a 1/4 inch and the chaffer at about 1/2 inch. That should get you started. Good Luck!
