When keying the mic the rf signal puts the tractor in neutral, and shuts the dash display off. Can hear the computer under the seat sound like a relay going off and on. Doesn't do it with antenna removed from top of cab. Cat says it's interference with the CanBus system which the cab lights are part of. It's a 50 Watt radio. Any fixes short of shielding the wires under the cab roof?

don't talk on the radio, but seriously i think you may be able to minimize by shielding and perhaps even tinfoil, as we have more and more wireless and computer systems this is becoming a bigger issue every year. if you know of a local ham radio operator they may have some insite and guidance for you...

If its not a factory installed two way antenna cable... Install the factory one. it has a built in ground cable. also install the shield plate they call it. affixes to the inside of the roof around the antenna base. Have seen a few do this and this has corrected the problem.

It is the factory antenna cable running to the left rear of cab. Haven't had time to pull roof off yet to look at things. Did put a 16" piece of aluminum under antenna on top of cab, worked for 1/2 a day. Hopefully shielding things under the roof will work. If not, will try moving antenna. Thanks for the ideas/advice.

If you have another radio to swap in I would try that and as previously mentioned with less power. I had a situation with our 8970 that had worked fine with the two way and then one fall it was causing the JD GPS to go nuts and took it a number of minutes to settle back down so it would work properly as it would loose signal and so on when the mic was keyed. I thought maybe something was going wrong with the cable to the antenna so I tried a magnetic base one instead and moved it around to no avail. Finally I tried a different radio and that was it, something in that faulty radio was causing an interference with the incoming signal for the GPS, strange but there it was.

Finally got the tractor in the shop and took the top off. The antenna end of the coax had a ground wire going to ground and also a piece of metal window screen attached on the under side of the roof that the antenna mounted through. Disconnected the ground wire, no improvement. Took the window screen off and it works fine now. It's the one with the tape hanging off of it.

I can only offer the best solution I have found for any MF problem, Trade it for a Fendt,:) everything just works on them.

Otherwise I don't have a solution now, if you find one let me know. The Tier 3 ones didn't seem to do it, tier 4 ones do. I'm sure somebody has an answer but the few I've bugged about it did not. I haven't put much effort into it, that's the least of my worries on those things. Maybe I'll try Agco Answers lol.
