The engine RPM gage in the cab shows 2300 with no load. Manual says RPM's should have been set at the factory between 2350 to 2450. Do I need to have the RPM's adjusted or in the 2300 correct. This is a cummings engine

Cylinder RPM's in low range are from 60 to 400 on the gage in the cab. Manual says 200 to 524. What would be causing the difference--gage, speed sensor, or a problem with the variable speed. I have not tried the high range yet.

With the engine off, open the hand throttle fully forward in the cab. Now, go back in the engine compartment and verify the lever on the injection pump is fully open and hitting the stop bolt on the pump. I doubt very much the engine speed was ever set too low, but your linkage might have adjustment problems. Also, your tach may be at fault too.

My 02 R62 operates at 2300 also. With load it will jump up to 2320 RPM'S. It has the CAPS fuel system so I don't know how to adjust and mine runs fast enough for me.

my 99 r62 will run about the same the engine rpm beeper will go off sometimes randomly too
