I'm looking at a 2377 to run alongside 2 2188's. I know they're close to the same hp that I'm used to, but what is really different between a 77 and 88? I'm told in '05 that the 77 was still a mechanical motor and 88's were electronic, but that both went electronic in '06. Other than the sans-extension grain tank and shorter standard auger, what would be the difference?

Also, do they make a longer factory auger than the 208"? I swear I've seen 2588's that look longer than my 21's with the Stewart Extenders on the outer end...

The 77s and 88s are basically the same machine with different engine HP. The differences were little things like the hopper extension on the 88.

If you buy a 05 2377, you can probably turn up the pump to get the HP that a 2388 has. The electronic ones aren't that easy. Also, be aware that the electronic engines will burn more fuel than the mechanical pump machines.
