The Position:
We are looking for a well rounded individual to join us for the 2015 crop year. This is a seasonal position from April 1-November 1. The applicant should possess some the following:

- Mechanical ability to assist in diagnosing and repairing machinery
- Aptitude to run large equipment and trucks
- Has some familiarity with GPS/machinery computer systems or willingness to learn
- Exhibits strong attention to detail

Possess good organizational and communication skills
-Respectful of equipment/property/accommodations and exercises cleanliness in these areas
-Takes pride in their work
-Can utilize common sense to problem solve on a daily basis
- Good, efficient work ethic

The employee will need to be capable of working long hours during seeding/harvest, but workload will resume to normal 30-40hr per week outside of these critical times. Between the end of seeding and the beginning of harvest we are flexible on time off and even in workweek time (such as 4 days on, 3 off). The employee will have quite a bit of autonomy in their position once their skillset and operational aptitude has been demonstrated. The employee will be responsible for all aspects involved in operating a mid size grain farm including cleaning/repairing/maintaining equipment, operating large, modern Case equipment/GPS, driving mid to large size trucks, binning grain, loading trucks, and performing general yard maintenance.

Pay range for position is $20-$27 depending on experience and qualifications. There will be opportunity for performance bonus at the end of the term. Accommodations are available.

About Us:
We are 6500ac 5th generation family grain farm near Swift Current Saskatchewan. We continuous crop durum, lentils, peas, and canola. Our farm runs mostly newer Case IH equipment/GPS/Autosteer and have added features on most machines to make it as simple and easy for the operator to perform the task (such as remote openers on trucks, cameras on trucks/augers/drill/combines). We are easy to work with, patient, flexible, and take the time to train new employees on all the equipment/agronomy our farm utilizes. We try and operate efficiently while being mindful of our own and employees safety.

Swift Current is a growing community of around 16,000 people located on the Trans Canada Hwy with many amenities and numerous bodies of water within 35mins for recreational activities.

how do you expect to attract a qualified employee that you search with only seasonal employment and that low of a wage? smh
