So is the cart more or less directly mounted to the tool bar for side draft control? Is there any other measures taken to prevent side draft? Also it looks like a may make a little deeper furrow for erosion purposes I am thinking, these are the things that I really want to see, have a couple hills here and no for a fact our long train style systems would never work, they would pull ya right down the hill.

Really appreciate them pics!

Its only scary when it stops going uphill and you have to look for someway to back out without ending up someplace you do not want to be going.

Our drill is pretty much a stock ATX 400 drill with a 430 bushel cart. I don't think in our terrain much bigger can be pulled because the tractors just aren't big enough.

The pictures Ray posted are a neighbor with a Flexicoil cart with cross slot openers mounted on it. The cart and tool on that one are two point mounted.

One thing that really catches my attention is that even as long as that ground has been farmed I would have expected to see more erosion, your getting me more and more interested in finding away to take ya up on that offer!

Thanks again for the info!

tbone95, yes it does happen, but not very often. The leveling cylinders on the machines can do the job by themself with out the other for saftey, and the hillcos have check valves so if some thing fails it will stay put. We had the dogbone link on our 1470 fail this year, thank god it didnt break, we were cutting some land in excess of 50% slope. If it would have broke on the uphill side of the hill the bottom axel would have been driven about a foot or two in the ground. The a-arm with the tire attached would either stop when the lower axial did or when it got stopped by the tinwork on the side of the combine, machine would have layed against the side of the hill, would have been fun to get back together. We have broke one on level ground and that was a bitch to get back together.
