Does anybody run a standing grain auto height system on an 8010 with a 35' 2020. We have used headsight but I have not been impressed with the arms that drag on the ground. I sure hope that there is would make harvest a whole lot easier.
I know what you`re talking about we have customers that cut wheat with RTC on uneven terrain and are diving into the ground with the big head all the time. we had one customer that was going to try using chains and doglegs like the cornheads, never heard how that went. it would take a lot of changing, I`ll do some checking good luck in the meantime
The 2010 uses large plates instead of arms to sense the ground. I suppose if you're a good fabricator, or know a good one, you could make something like what the 2010 uses for this head.
If you're good with electronics you might be able to make a radar or sonar sensor that senses the distance to the ground and convert that to a signal that the 8010 can use.
Or if you normally cut standing grain, switch to a 2010.
