I’m fairly new to grain marketing and was wondering what the general consensus on these new grain prices dropping, is it common trend to have a dip right now or should a guy be concerned, think they’ll go up in may during seeding? I know last couple years have been pretty wild but wondering what everyone’s been doing.

Shine that crystal ball up, who knows where we’re going to land this year, personally I think there’s more downside to prices then up but what do I know, I oversold my wheat in 21 and lost 50k because of it, now this year assuming decent yields with the price slide this month I’d be down 100k, I’ve locked in 10 bu of canola and 15 of wheat futures, no basis yet so I’ve reduced that future loss a bit

Not if interest rises another 1/2 point and crop isn’t fantastic. There’s building inventory of new iron. You can actually buy a brand new drill today for spring. (First time in at least 3-4yrs maybe 5)
Yeah, time will tell, I’m just trying to wrap my head around things, all grain news is panic panic panic so I’m just seeing what the unbiased opinions may be, and that’s good for guys who want a new drill, the old flexi coil is getting another year on it for me

The way telecommunications companies charge in Canada that’s also a legitimate complaint.
No kidding. Australians complain about their high rates as well but I had bought an Australian plan with a new number and sim card. Sim card there is free with the plan. My Aussie plan with Telsim, their best carrier for out of city coverage, was $47 CDN/month which included 80GB of data X2 promotion, so 160GB high speed, plus free unlimited countrywide and international calling (thanks Phantom970 for the heads up on Telsim). Calling back home from there was clearer most times by far than calling next door here. Here the Telus sim card was $30 several years ago and my plan for 60GB and some calling to the US is $100/month.

There is such a simple way to fix this that's it's not even funny. Remember, it's the PRODUCER who holds all the power here.

I'd make a recommendation on how ALL of us should proceed with our new crop marketing plans but what's the sense. You can't get 2 or 3 producers to agree nevermind 40 or 50 thousand.
