I've had a TR since I started farming 20 years ago. First a 70 then an 85 and now a TR86. Considering updating to a Tr89 but have spotted a few 2166 CaseIH's. What would be a better machine running a 20" platform and a 6 row corn head. I think the 89 is a little bigger in capacity, and I already have the New Holland heads. I only farm 200 acres but custom harvest another 300 with possibly another 160 this year.

TR 89 is a bigger machine than the 2166. The TR 89's were a large body machine. The only difference between the 89 and 99 was a bit less power (240 instead of 280), and the concave adjustment was still manual on the 89, where as the 99 is electric.

How would a TR88 compare to a 2166? Pretty even between my TR86 and a 1460 or 1660, I believe.
