I put a bin extension on my 2188. It won't fill the extension all the way up without racheting the elevator slip clutch. As soon as you empty the hopper it starts back up with no problem. Do I need to speed up my elevator? Corn is 17% moisture.
At 17% you should be able to move along pretty good in good corn without stopping the auger, I had that problem when the corn was over 20% and I was picking good corn, I was told not to over lube that slip clutch and I also put stronger springs on the slip clutch and I have had no problems at all loading the tank with extentions now......
We always put our machines on the fast speed sprocket on the elevator drive, and usually ad some washers to the springs on the slip clutch when we ad bin extensions.
I thank you all very much for answering all my questions. I have only been harvesting for six years and only three years with a CASEIH. I am asking a lot of questions because I am trying to do a good job.
Another way to do it. Especially for the older machiens that dont have the hydraulic resources. I talked to a few hydraulic auger owners and several of them had had a hose blow in the tank and make a pretty big mess.
