Need help cleaning up my sample in corn. I have the rotor speed set 330 rpm, fan speed is 1050 rpm, concave clearance just a little bigger than the cobs and can't get it cleaned up. Oh yeah I have a specialty rotor with large wire concaves with all the wires and key stock grates. Corn is in the mid to lower 20's for moisture.

First Post for me!
My 1640 with standard rotor this year needed the concave set around 6 with the rotor speed at 400 and the old style fan speed at 1000. I've got a 2166 rental out there now since my transmission died in the 1640. The 2166 has a specialty rotor. So far I'm at 1150 on the fan 6 on the concave and the rotor at 350 rpm in an effort to clean up the cobs. The corn is running around 200bu. and 17% moisture.

The specialty rotor seems to be tougher on the cobs?

On our 2588 I ran the whole season (32% down to 17%) with roughly the same settings: 350-400 on the rotor, 2.6-2.9 on the concaves (opening allows the grain to thresh against itself easier and increases capacity some) set the fan as high as it will go (ours is 1200). Had the sieves at roughly 9-11 on top, and I believe 10-13 (dependinng on sample) on the bottom. That was getting a pretty darn clean sample.
