Anyone have problems with grain not tripping the sensor in the hopper? doesn't matter what crop either. It seems the grain gets behind the flipper before it can be pushed back. Any ideas? Do i need to make my own bracket? We have Crary hopper extensions and upright extensions on top. Thanks

The new machines use a style of sensor that looks like a flat drum head, for lack of a better description. The pressure of the grain pressing against the flat portion of the sensor (drum head) is what activates it. There is nothing for the grain to "get behind" with this newer style. This can be retrofitted onto previous machines.

It is a direct substitution for the origional switch on your 2188 the old one is no longer available. The hoppper top is the cause of the sensor problem we often see that after extension installation.

As steigerman correctly stated, the old style is not available. If the dealer has some carry-over old stock still in inventory, asking him for a 2588 switch will work.

Thanks for the help, went to dealer and got sensor. New style, like 7010, 8010, much better deal. Threw old one away.
