Our 2005, 2388 has issues with the air conditioning system. It seems whenever it is a nice warm day and you want the air conditioning to work, it doesn't. The valve under the buddy seat turns to shut the heat off but we seem to continue getting heat. The windows will fog up. To fix the problem short term, we put a manual valve in the heating line to shut off the hot water. The air conditioning will work then. Has anybody else had this issue? Any Suggestions?

Up next to your AC Control there is a small screen does it flash 02 when your AC quit,s my 2003 2388 did that I was told it was the high pressure cut out. I got a new one put it on and things worked after that. I only had the combine for about a year after that fix can't say if it is still working.

The Air conditioner of our 2388 just cut out. Thought it was gas. Found that the compressor is not Kicking in. Fuses are all Ok. Power gets to the relay. Relay does not get signal from control unit. Have replaced control unit with other combine. Still not working. Can anyone give me help on this. What else can I check ?

Check the low pressure switch which is located under the jump seat . Had problems when it started to cool down at night -- unplugged it and now no more problems . With the cab windows fogging up it is moisture left in the condenser evaporating after you shut off the ac . My suggestion is to have the cab air filter clean so the little pressurizing fan can supply fresh air to clean out the moisture and to use a combination of heat and ac to keep the temp at desired .Another thing is to take the seat off and to blow or wash out the evap core once every two years as it will get dirty because most of the air in the cab is recirculated through the cheap foam filter behind the seat .

Vehicle air conditioning can be a very tricky thing to repair, so if ever it gets busted, it should be fixed immediately. Any part of the air conditioner can be the problem when it is not functioning properly, and it may, therefore, be necessary to call in an emergency air conditioning NJ professional who is trained in repairing air conditioning systems which will give you a long-term benefits.

Good advice on getting it fixed by a professional but being farmer a lot of us are used to fixing breakdowns ourselves and nothing ever breaks when we are not using it. Ac is one of those thing we can but don’t like to live without, and most cabs have few windows that open enough to cool the cab or usually just let the heat from the engine and dust in. Judging by the response on here there is a lot of people with ac issues. Me also. Could use an ac technician on the forum for troubleshooting.

Your evaporator core or orfice is probably freezing up, have checked the pressures? Its likely low on refridgerant.

We were having ac issues last wheat harvest...found the problem, the compressor was going out, which in turn, just about caught on fire... Put a new compressor on, vac’ed the system down, and put the recommended amount back in. Ice cold now...well, was..just traded it off on a 7088.
