Hello evreyone have been a IH combine operator for many years we bought two 2388 combines last year after harvest and are using them now . More or less the same combine as a 1688 exept a nicer cab and maybe a little more power the thing i noticed when thrashing flax was that it leaked out the small inspection door for getting a sample when the hopper was nearly full . I fixed by taping a piece of sheet metal about two inches high across the bottom of the opening but still leaking a bit will have to make a door i guess . Photos attached

Have you got a hopper topper as well? If you think flax is bad, Canary seed is worse. leaks out any/everywhere . Can't fill hopper into the topper as it will then force it under the side screens and up out around unload auger assembly and clean grain elevator drive . I know it looks like crap but duct tape works best for most leaks, and not filling right to full capacity helps allot. Also having lots of green wild oats and kochia will keep it from leaking and let you get an extra 20 bushel in the hopper !!!!! LOL !!!
