Yes, they made a small attempt at fixing the issue by welding a formed bracket of sorts to the backside of the main axle where the pivot tube in inserted.

However, they are also known to fail without warning by breaking accross the drilled holes in the extentions. The wider the tire, and the more it is offset outwards, the worse the stress on the axle when turning.
