I was just wondering if anybody out there was running an 8 row on 2577, reason I ask is I have the oppurtunity to buy a nice local one, older gentleman here is retiring and I'm looking to replace the 2166. We are planning on going to a 16 row planter for spring '09 and I want to be sure I go big enough if I upgrade the combine now. Also what size platforms are you guys running on them 20's or 25's. Your input is appreciated guys I wanna be sure this thing will do what I need it to be before I spend the kind of money its going to take.

I run a 25' 1020 on a 2377 and a 6 row head. It handles both so well I wish I could put on a 30' head and an 8 row but my planter is a 12 row and with a 25' head we can sneak up and down the roads around here without taking it off, a 30 footer, I would have to trailer it everywhere. A 2577 in my opinion should handle an 8 row head just fine, many 2188's and 1680's ran 8 rows and a 2577 has the same clean grain elevator capacity as those machines but with more HP

I know of 3 different operations that ran 8 row 30" cornheads on 2366's without a problem- so a 2577 should be able to handle it just fine- it's basically the same machine as the 2588- you can compare the specs. at the CaseIH website.

Had a 8 row on our 1997 2166 & on 6 different 2366's & a 2377. We turned the screw on the 2377 it was awesome! now we have a 2577 but have not done any corn yet, I'm sure it well be fine. We started with a 25' platform on the 2377 with out it turned up traded for 30' platform very happy with it . Running tonight in 55 bushels beans sometimes @ 5.3 but most times @ 4.5. Sure was fun , It is our 1st day out this season (beans). But it is suppose to have AUGER BOOST but it really slows up when unloading! Any one else notice this lack of boost? I think I will have a chat with Maxie when warranty is off!!!!!!

Thanks Guys
