Hey guys. I need a little help. I need the dimentions of the air screen off the 2588. The black one that concaves back in a little

I need Diameter, how thick it is and if possible a good estimate on how far it concaves back in etc. A few really good pics would be nice as well.

Thanks for the help.

I believe the trash build up issue is mainly from people using chopping corn heads, as there is some kind of sap that goes into the air. That sap stuck to the old gray plastic screens, with the tiny holes, and then other stuff would stick and clog it up. I believe this new option is made of steel, but it also has some kind of vacuum thing on the bottom to pull stuff off the screen to help keep it clean.

I doubt anyone on here can get you the dimensions of it, since it's not like that part is sitting in everyones shed yet. The people that have machines with that screen aren't likely to measure it up. The ones that know the measurements (R&D) certainly won't post it here. There are a few out in the wild though, so somebody may have a chance to look it over more closely. Might I ask why you want to know dimensions? Will you be making one yourself?

The trash buildup happens in corn harvest, usually on a windy day when there are alot of dry leaves and trash blowing around. The trash gets jammed in between the screen and the brush support and it will stop the screen. The chopping corn heads create another problem as the sap will build up and plug the holes. There is a brush available that mounts inside the new rotary screen that rolls with the screen to unplug the holes and can be locked back when not needed. The new screen only rotates 70 rpm. We just installed two of the new style rotary screen kits on combines and it would have been easy to get measurements then, but both have been delivered to the customers.

Oh, cool. I'm sure several of us here would like to see pictures once its completed.

The diameter is going to be the same as the air screens on the side of a 2388 (model year 2003 and up). I don't know what that number is though. I can only guess at the depth of it, so that doesn't help you much either.
