I'm planning on updating to a 2188 but probably not before next harvest. I've got a line on a super clean 30ft head and wondered if my 1660 could handle it. I'm in south dakota and our beans are normally dry and short when we harvest them. I guess i'm not too worried about the intake from it i'll just go 20% slower, than my 25ft head. But will the smaller feeder house support the added weight? thanks!

When I was in Australia in 95 most guys working 1660's and 1460's worked 30 foot 810,s and macdons with weight frames on the back axle. 1688's were running 36ft macdons. So I wouldn't think running a 30 footer for a season would be too hard. The 1460 i was working along side had a 30 foot air head on and had 6000hrs on the tacho by the end of harvest with the same head and the TR85 I was on had 5400hrs.

Cheers BB
