I just bought a 3150 tractor and the front wheel assist doesn't want to disengage. I checked the electric switch and it is good. There must be an electric solenoid or something somewhere. I don't have a book for the machine. Can someone point me in the right direction to trouble shoot this please? Thanks Rod.

Ok it's mechanical
There's a solenoid between the engine oil pan and the transmission on the
left hand side.
NO power to the solenoid the four wheel is engaged
No hydraulic pressure the four wheel is engaged
In other words it takes power and hyd pressure to disengage
Now this is for 4850 I would assume the 3150 is the same

Hello Mitch
Yes, the Mannheim built tractors work the same way.

Thanks for the solenoid help guys. I finally got the tractor into my shop and had a look at it today. I tested the solenoid and it has power. I decided to pull it off and clean it up anyway. After reinstalling I figured I'd go for a test drive. 4wd still won't disengage.
Is there a way to test the actuator that the solenoid attaches to?
You also spoke about hydraulic pressure Mitch. Where do I test that? My loader and steering work just fine, but my brakes are on the weak side.
Where do I look at next?
Thanks
Rod
