I have a new to me, 2002, 6850. I've chopped about 5500 tons of corn silage so far.
First 3500 tons silage went without a hitch and the processor is doing a very good job.
Had the front fixed idler pulley bearings go and since then they have went two more times in a very short time.
Thinking it was likely the grease I was using which I thought was high end.
Last time I used the yellowish JD grease per dealer recommendation.
Chopped about 300 ton since then and so far so good but the pulley still feels pretty warm.
I just have to fill a silo for neighbor yet, 400 tons.
Feeling pretty gun shy at this point.
Any input as to not having an issue again appreciated.
