How much difference is there between the 35 & 40 Macdon's?
Can you get double knife drive on the 35'?
With a 35' 2020 could do over 4 mph in 60 plus beans. In green stems could be 3 & under.

TIA

One's bigger than the other?
Do you mean price or design?
You can get a 35' D50 just 2 reel arms, sort of a cheapo header.
Yes. But only on 35' and 40' FD's. FD's run 2 hydraulic motors while D60D's run mechanically timed knives.
This might help:

not sure why you need a double knife drive...

if a 2588 can handle a 36ft like weve seen im sure a 7010 can handle a 40 easy....

I'd get a 35 would be a nice match for a 7010

double knife is a pain in the a** center sections break and are a pia to put in. but I'm unsure if 1 will drive a 35 or 40' header.

Our 7010 has a 36' single knife flex draper and works great. I wish we had the extra 4 feet. I'd rather drive a little slower to keep her full and get a nice cut than race around at 6+ mph. I guess Macdon better get working on some bigger better drapers for the class 9's. But I'm sure they're already on it. My vote is for the 40 footer.
