Is the return to cut button on the stick with all the other buttons or is it on the console?
7010 with unusual problem
I have a 2008 7010 combine with electrical problems that I can't figure out and has the Rocky Mountain Equipment stumped.
While combine is moving header and reels will not go down with down button and unload auger will not swing out. Header will go up and down with return to cut button. And as soon as combine stops everything works properly.
Auto height on FD70 and D60also isn't working well but I am unsure if that is related.

It is on the stick.
All buttons work at all time up just not down.

I would check the wires where they come out of the stick into the console had same thing on an 8010 was a couple broken in that area
Can you get things to work in reverse
If so then it would be a broken wire in the handle and when pulling forward breaks but in neutral works. worth a try

The diagnostic display can give you readings from the switches so you can know for sure if they are bad or having connection issues in the handle or handle wiring harness.
It is most likely just a loose or broken wire in the connector at the bottom of the stick. I had that problem on a 2388 a few years ago.
Agree with above, go into display.m some were it can graph what it thinks the switch is doing. it should show if it open when problem occurs. I weld guess harness into stick also.
FNR handle. Replace it. But check harness from it to armrest first to make sure it's still plugged in.
I don't know about your combine, but I lover your user name!
You could go and check through diagnostics but way faster would be attempt to do a header cal. Because you will be asked to raise and lower the header and if it fails cal, it's the handle
