Hi. We have a 7140 Magnum that seems to be needing coolant added quite often. Oil doesn't seem to taste like anti freeze so we are just not sure where it's going. There never seems to be a mess on the ground. It runs fairly warm when worked harder but I've read that is normal on these tractors. Any ideas where the coolant is going?

You got me with tasting the oil as well... Those engines like to "burn" a bit of water. How many hours on machine, how often you have to add coolant, and how much coolant? Hydraulic cooler leaking?

Not sure if this could happen on the 8.3 or not, but we had a tractor that the water pump went bad and the weep hole was plugged and antifreeze went into the engine. It was slow enough it just burned off while running and didn't show up in the oil, just a lot of white coming out the valve cover vent tube on hot days.
