Broke the primary countershaft on 7720 yesterday in beans. No reason showing why this happened. Question is; to change this shaft do you take off elect. clutch off L.H. side and pull the shaft out the other side? Any tips and advice welcome thanks
Open the door where the hydraulic tank is I think thats the side you will remove it from after clutch and pulleys on other side are removed. you may have broke if after a bearing going out either recently or years past that caused the shaft to get hot and brittle. pretty common.
Thanks Dan; we actually took the shaft out the r.h. side as that was the side where it broke. The v.s. pulley fell right off so we took the electric clutch pulley off l.h. side and slid the shaft out the rt. side. Ordered parts yesterday and tech supposed to install new one today;hope we can get it going again weather is good now, need to finish the beans.
