Our 7720 started making noise on the cyl. drive at idle speed. When you go full throttle it goes away. The electric hdr. drive clutch also wants to creep alittle when itis shut off. Can't find any bad bearings or anything that would cause this. Yesterday late the v.s. belt for the cyl. drive broke. I'm wondering if it was bad causing the vib. or it broke because of some other problem. Any suggestions ?? Thanks,Paul

Hey we put the new v.s. belt on yesterday and she is smooth as silk I had checked that belt the day before and it looked ok. I think maybe it was broken cords inside the belt ; kind of like a tire with broken belts??

Make sure to grease the gear case of the lower sheave on that v.s. drive belt . There is a proper pocedure that is not well covered in the owners manual. Don't just put grease in the outer zerk. If the cams inside wear or the spring becomes weak, you will start to tear up that same belt quicker than you'll like.
