Have 2 of these picking and 1 ruins a engine fan drive belt every 1 to 3 days. Replaced hyd. side of drive twice, spring side seems free to move in and out. What are we missing?

Any JD techs out there can tell me what might be the cause? Same set up on R tractors. Thanks.

I am no expert at all, but first thing that comes to my mind is just maybe a misalignment of one of the drive belt wheels.

Have you checked the fan bearings? They are known to fail on the R's and send the fan straight through the radiator.

Verify the damper is installed all the way on the crank. If you can see crank behind it isn't on far enough.

I'll check but doesn't the dampner drive the alternator and the little rotating screen belt? This is the variable fan drive belt above it.

having the same problem as of the past week with my 7760. did you resolve your issue and if so how?
