Looking to get a wide fuel tank on the 3/4 t dodge single axle and just wondering if anyone has ever put a wide deck on a single. Cant see much disadvantage other than the wheels are tucked in a wheel width. Or I could trade to a dually or just get the narrow deck. Not looking for a fancy deck just basic with a 2 inch reciever.

go 8" wide and then look for a dually axle someday and swap it out.

What do you plan on doing with the deck?

The reason I ask, is I have a tandem axle, single tire flat deck (2 x 7,000lb axles) that is 8 1/2 feet wide. It's great for hauling pallets of seed/chem because you can get 2 pallets side-by-side without hanging over.

However, I have noticed that the trailer isn't as stable. I think it's because the tires are tucked in under the trailer too far. If/when I replace it, I'm thinking of going to 10,000lb axles as then they are generally duals.

Big deal with the wheels, if its a service rig it should be about function not appearance IMO

I think you can actually get a kit to make it a dually

I'm sure there are others but this is likely cheaper then upgrading the pickup plus your tires won't burn up so quick with duals on it

Not sure on your truck but on some you can swap out the studs and wheels and make it a dually. We had a 8' wide on a chevy 3/4 and it was fine.
