Last fall during the last half of the season our grain was too dirty with lots of little things in it ( leaves, small pieces of cobb, small pieces of stems). It seemed as though the air flow wasn't enough but the monitor showed the fan was running at the proper rpm. Lower sieve was wide open upper sieve was around 20 I think. Presieve 2 notches from wide open. I think there has to be something wrong with the fan. Our service guy ran over the bottom cage/guard with his truck when he was working on a separate issue so we ran without that for quite a bit of the fall. Would that make a difference? Just wondering about any ideas when I start working on it to try to figure out what's wrong.

I am willing to bet that there is or was corn leaves blocking your airflow. This happens right after the fan. There is dividers to split the airflow that corn leaves get snagged on that will slowly blow your airflow. On the 20 series and later with the fan trap door, you can reach in and grab the leaves from the air channel.

I have experienced is multiple times in different years. It takes the right conditions to happen.

I seem to recall now my Dad saying sometimes he would get an error that fan rpm would sometimes be low. Everytime I went in and watched while he ran the rpms were fine though. It's probably what you're saying, that the corn leaves plugged the fan. Gonna have to clean it out and see what our dealer can do about the guard they ran over.
