have had two machines this year sand from block being casted getting into thermostat, need to flush engine and heater core, there has been a campain out, just a heads up if you folks have problems, scott.
Engine temp would only get up to about 130. Dropped the unit off at the dealer to put RWA on it and mentioned "oh by the way, the engine temp isn't rising like it should".
Mechanic already knew what the problem was. Said we had gravel in the thermostat which confused us until he said that gravel is the term they use for filings left over from the boring process. Switched out to a new thermostat housing and it has worked great since.
Im one of the machines mentioned in the original post. we've been through 3 thermostats, 2 thermostat housings, 42 gallons of antifreeze and countless gallons of water trying to flush out system. Tech thought we had it all cleaned out worked good in the yard. Finally got back to harvest couple days ago and worked for only part of the day and then it stuck open again. vvv I hope it works for you cause weve not had much luck. Post back any further results. Thanks.
