Shelling corn with an 06 8010, and can't keep the radiator clean. Having to blow it out twice a day? The 04 model is cutting rice and not having any issues. Have looked closely and can't find where the trash could be coming from. Also, the newer machine sure does seem like it is low of power compared to the older one. Have had mechanic out and he can't seem to find anything wrong, everything seems to check out according to him. But if you get on one and then on the other there is a BIG difference. Need some help please. Would appreciate anything yall have to say.

I believe the 04 8010's came from the factory with more power.

There was a laptop program that could be installed in the 06 8010's to give it the extra power that you get when you unload. I don't know if you have a Pro 600 monitor in your 06 model but in the 07 model with the Pro 600 you could switch between power boost and power rise.

When engine runs hotter than normal the engine will automatically derate itself to protect it from overheating at a certain point. Check combine info> engine and see, it will tell you if it is derating itself. Check the rotary screen centering and adjustment of the idler wheels on the screen as well as the seal condition. Screen will flex in operation if support wheels are not adjusted up properly and allow the seal to leak.

I think the seal around the air screen is bad, gonna replace it in the morning. As for the power issue.......has me puzzled. The machine is on power rise, can't really tell much difference between that and boost. If you put the seperator and header in gear, push the hydro forward in second gear, and THEN begin to throttle up it will never get to 2100 RPM until you pull the hydro back. I am running a 8 row wide corn head, and the best I can do in 200 bushel dry corn is about 5 MPH. The old 2188 would do that. As for cutting down rice or green stemmed soybeans, you can just about hang that up, 2188 would hang with it. Was expecting a WHOLE lot more outta this machine. The 05 model (got my years mixed up, I got an 05 and 06 model) just seems soooo much stronger. Dealer doesn't have a whole lot of these machines out, so we are kinda learning together.

found the problem. Rotary air screen was cracked, put a new one on and has not been hot since. Still having low power issues though. The machine gets around 102% engine power and just feels like it is gonna fall on its face. Never seen it get over 110%. The 05 model will go all the way up to 117% and is still strong. It feels like it could purr along there all day. The 06 model gets over 100 and just feels doggy. Any ideas? We have run all the tests Case says to run, and it is building 40#'s of boost pressure, kinda got us puzzled. But with this down rice we need all the help we can get!!!

Hi,
You may have tried this but check your fuel hose and filter to see if there is any palstic tank filings in them. Last year we had an 06 that had a bunch of filings in the tank. It would work fine and then just start to get doggy and finally you were hardly moving. All the test and pressures were OK but just not getting enough fuel, we could take the hose off just below the valve under the tank and open the valve and sometimes it would hardly run out, take a close hanger and poke up there and it would start to pour out and then you had power again.
Just a thought
