Question, Will an 8120 need the heavy feeder house lift option to run a 2162 40 foot ? I believe it weighs about 7500# and the 12 row corn head about 8500. Ordering a new one and want to make the right choice.

I have 7010 w/ 2162 & 12 row 20". It lifts it fine, but in auto header height I have to turn the raise sensitivity down to 10 because it jumps so much trying to run in float. With the sensitivity turned so low the jumping stops but not so good in water ways or terraces. I would get all the lift I could get.

Get the HD feeder lift if you are running those heads. The pivot shaft and retention hardware are different on the feeder face and the face plate, frame work and tilt cyl are also heavier along with the larger lift cyls. The standard feeder will lift those heads but you will be working it at it's limit. The 40ft draper weight carries farther out from the feeder face than the corn head does and will put more stress on the feeder than the 12 row head will.
