im am working for a guy that has a 8120 last fall it had no problems other then the feeder house chain master link braking a few times and chain got twisted pull in a new chain to finish. we got it out to get ready for wheat and the chain is trying to clime over the sprocket on the one side. anyone no why it is doing this or what to do about it? other then that did 5000acres last year with no other problems

did stripper plates next to sprockets git out of alignment catching chain, scott.

i dont think so but will check them the thing runs smooth like nothing is hitting

are sprockets wore, plastic filler strips on top of feeder floor wore out and chain catching, this will cause connector links to come out, remove cover on r/h side of feeder, forward plastic cover, 2 19 mm bolts, turn top shaft 2 1/4 socket with 3/4 drive ratchet, turn forward and reverse, with top cover removed, will see your problem, scott.

my feeder chain on the 7120 did the same thing, the chain jumped sproket a few times and then wore excessive, we replaced it at the end of the season, and could not find out why it happened, my guess is that under load the top large shaft with thesprokets on is flexing, and allowing chain to jump, and spring tensioners also help in the process, this was a new problem to the 20 series, and was modified from the older 10 series

Check feeder drum arms for binding where bolts go thru to adjusters. Have had a few that when the spring loaded adjusters are set correctly, the chain is tight on one side and almost dragging the floor on the other side.When you remove the drum assembly and set it on the floor, one arm touches the floor and the other arm is off the floor 1/4 to 1 inch! Remove the arms and lightly grind the hex shaft to let both arms touch the floor. Next check the arms to be parallel . Mine were closer together at the bolt end than the hex end. Bend in a press till parallel. Surprising how much tighter it lets the chain run . IMHO, the arms fit too tight on the hex anyway, not allowing the movement and tensioning during wear that the 88 series allow.

Our 7120 feeder chain jumps sprockets and gets crooked too no ideas or help from dealer. It was ok in beans and jumped in corn once it jumped it was bent and junk.

spring loaded tenschioners was a update to correct issues with chains, darn double chains, once they get tweaked there junk, one chain loose other tight, this is why case went to one piece chain, this has been the biggest pain in the a's, have changed many out, i agree with above post, check drum, shaft and arms, are stops set the same left to right, scott.

Here in Argentina is a very common problem that we have the owners of 8010 ... mine is updated with the carrier system of 8120 but still is still jumping a tooth, especially during the harvest of corn!

My 7120 had trouble with the top shaft hitting the strippers. Discovered it was bent or out of round. Replaced it this spring with a new shaft . The new shaft has spockets which have more of a point on the teeth. Designed to have less wrap. The chain was replaced with a new chain that has C slats instead of J slats.Should be stronger.
